In a remarkable example of collaboration and innovation, Trentham Electrical and Solar recently completed an off-grid project for a customer seeking energy independence with the flexibility of reconnecting to the grid at any time. The project involved integrating new solar panels with an existing solar system that had been in operation for over 10 years, coupled with a state-of-the-art FranklinWH battery.
The FranklinWH battery, chosen for its off-grid certification, warranty, and generator input capabilities, became the heart of the solution. However, during commissioning, the team identified that the older inverter was not responding correctly to frequency shifts generated by the FranklinWH battery. Thanks to Trentham Electrical and Solar's positive relationship with FranklinWH, the battery manufacturer swiftly developed custom software specifically to address this unique challenge.
This collaboration led to a successful system commissioning, allowing the customer to enjoy seamless energy independence. Notably, the impact of this project went beyond a single installation. Soon after, another site in Victoria faced a similar challenge, benefiting from the same custom software. FranklinWH has continued to monitor both installations closely and is now considering making this specialized firmware available for future customers.
